The Eco-Innovation event; showcased three new technologies that can make better use of our natural resources and reduce Australia’s ecological footprint, providing that environmental improvement and commercial success can work together.
The challenges faced with the development and commercialisation of sustainable aviation fuel was presented by Dr Bill Lyons, demonstrating how the utilisation of low carbon fuels can assist in decoupling sector growth from its emissions, allowing the industry to successfully operate in a low carbon economy.
|
MBD Energy’s new technology holds the key to rapid, large scale CO2 emissions reduction from existing coal and gas fired power stations and other smoke-stack industries such as smelters and refineries. Andrew outlined key aspects of the process, conversion of greenhouse gases to algae oil and meal, and their plans to escalate these projects to large scale.
Dean Cameron of the Biolytix Group discussed how the use of Bio-mymicry in business can change the way we approach water treatment, and the challenges facing an innovative business as it pursues a sustainable future. |
